Long Range is a Calgary-based mineral exploration company focused on the discovery and development of structurally controlled orogenic gold projects in Newfoundland, Canada. The Company is presently concentrating its efforts on its wholly owned Simms Ridge Property immediately south of Pollard’s Point, located within the Humber Zone of the Newfoundland Appalachian Mountain Belt.
The Simms Ridge Property
Gold was first discovered in the Simms Ridge area over a century ago with minor production at the Browning Mine.
Since then, various companies have looked at individual claims including BP-Selco, Esso and US Borax, all in the 1980’s.
Long Range recently consolidated the area for the first time, which now consists of 93 mineral claims (held within a total of 10 licences) covering 2,325 ha.
Today, the Simms Ridge Property is:
- A significant and strategic land position with anomalous gold, silver and base metals;
- Under-explored with a total of eight walk-up geophysics-based drill targets identified;
- Now undergoing a detailed satellite-based structural interpretation for next steps.
