Newfoundland is currently experiencing a gold rush, fuelled in part by Marathon Gold Corporation’s discovery at Valentine Lake which hosts 47.1Mt @ 1.36g/t Au equal to 2.05Moz of gold. This has attracted many Canadian juniors who have experience in exploring for fault-controlled, orogenic gold targets and Long Range counts themselves amongst that group.

However, Long Range is not following the crowd to the south-east that is presently occupied by numerous explorers in the Dunnage and Gander Zones, but rather in a focussed area at the leading edge of the Appalachian Orogen that has received limited testing in the past and remains largely under-explored. At Simms Ridge, a clear combination of its tectonic address, structural intensity and intrusive relationships makes it a “go-to” target for the next major gold discovery in Newfoundland.
